Working with the local community of Sharrow and Nether Edge

‘Our Roads, Our Safety’ has been all about working with the local community to understand what people think about road safety, and what they feel they can do to improve road safety in the area.

The campaign has also been aimed at commuters who travel through the area on a regular basis. Their thoughts and comments about road safety have been just as important.

The campaign was led by the Education, Training and Publicity (ETP) group that forms part of Sheffield City Council’s Road Safety team. The ETP group works with local communities to change perceptions and attitudes towards road safety.

In response to the road accident statistics in the area, Sheffield ETP group engaged with the community and commuters to understand what they think about road safety.
